Port Douglas and the Daintree
Port Douglas is a chic beach village with a laid-back reputation and is known as a tropical oasis for the stars. Their visitors include; Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, and Pink. The town is a mix of old world charm with sophisticated worldly comforts. Recharge in the pristine waters of the Coral Sea or the golden sands of Four Mile beach.
North of Port Douglas is the renowned Daintree National Park. The Eastern Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people are the Traditional Owners of Daintree National Park. They welcome you to their country and ask that you respect their sacred land.
It is the best place in the world to view two World Heritage-listed sites at once – the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. The Daintree is the oldest-living rainforest on the planet and is home to two notable attractions – Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation. The crystal-clear waters of the Mossman River cascade over granite boulders in Mossman Gorge while Cape Tribulation features rainforest-clad mountains that sweep down to the sea. Doing a “day-trip” in this region will not do this place justice, so to ensure an authentic experience, enjoy a night or two.
